Microcalorimetric Study of Carbonating Produced Water as a Promising CO2 Storage and Enhanced Oil Recovery Method

چکیده
Carbonated produced water injection (CPWI) might be considered an efficient alternative to handle the largest waste stream while enhancing oil recovery and storing carbon dioxide (CO2) underground. This study was attempt get a deeper understanding of process through synergy between spontaneous imbibition isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) experiments. The results from experiments showed 7% 11% additional in comparison with plain water. Rock–fluid fluid–fluid interactions, evaluated by experiments, confirmed that CPW interactions oil+EFB+chalk oil+EFB systems are much more exothermic than those PW systems. ITC provides improved carbonated carbonate reservoirs.

An Experimental Study of Surfactant Alternating CO2 Injection for Enhanced Oil Recovery of Carbonated Reservoir
Core flooding experiments were conducted with the objective of evaluating near miscible surfactant alternating CO2 injection and the effect of surfactant concentrations on gas-oil and water displacements in porous media. The core samples were provided from a low permeability mixed wet oil reservoir at 156 °F and 1900 psia. In addition, very few studies of surfactant adsorption on car...
متن کاملMicrobial Enhanced Oil Recovery Using Biosurfactant Produced by Alcaligenes faecalis
A bacterial strain (designated as Alcaligenes sp. MS-103) isolated from oil sample of the Aghajari oilfield in the south of Iran, was able to produce an effective extracellular lipopolysaccharide biosurfactant (1.2±0.05 g/l) on molasses as a sole carbon source. The highest surface tension reduction to level 20 mN/m was achieved by biosurfactant produced by cells grown on molasses under optimum ...
متن کاملIncreasing CO2 Storage in Oil Recovery
Carbon dioxide (CO2) injection has been used as a commercial process for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) since the 1970’s. Because the cost of oil recovered is closely linked to the purchase cost of the CO2 injected, considerable reservoir engineering design effort has gone into reducing the total amount of CO2 required to recover each barrel of oil. If, on the other hand, the objective of the CO2 ...
متن کاملA Pore Scale Evaluation of Produced Biosurfactants for Ex-situ Enhanced Oil Recovery
Microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR) is an economical method used to improve the oil recovery from reservoirs. In the MEOR techniques, by applying different microorganisms, a variety of products such as bioacid, biogas, biosurfactant, and biopolymer are generated, among which biosurfactant, one of the important metabolites, is produced by bacteria. It is worthy to note that bacteria are suita...
